Congratulations to Sarah Heward for her ‘rocking it’ confident and fun (her own words) performance at Club La Santa Volcano standard distance triathlon held today, 26th February 2022 at the Club La Santa resort on the windswept and rainy (yes, today it rained) island of Lanzarote; gaining fourth place in her age group with a result of 3 hours 02 mins 7 secs.
Sarah rounded up her day by explaining that she felt this was the proof that her training pulled together on the day to provide her with a cornerstone performance from which to progress towards her longer distance race events later in the year. Sarah is entered into the Manchester Marathon in April, and this precedes two UK-based Outlaw events and culminates 6 months to the day from now with Ironman Kalmar in Sweden. As Sarah’s coach and sport psychology support I am incredibly proud to express my delight at how far she has come. Most notably Sarah values the reward – she holds its close to her heart and understands how fortunate she is. Her fortune is down to the most extraordinary work ethic, a willingness to learn and attention to detail; raising the bar of self-awareness in her racing and working out what she needs and wants to improve upon next. And of course, Sarah has unconditional support from her husband, family and friends.
